Project Friends summary in English

Project Friends is a registered non-profit based in Tokyo, Japan with staff in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We provide service learning opportunities in Cambodia for Japanese groups and individuals. These include ten day group trips, two week immersive language learning trips, and internships starting at one month long. Everything starts with friendships, and we want to be known by the strength of our relationships. We are building mutual partnerships in Cambodia, investing in local capacity and solutions, and growing up an active and aware community in Japan.

A video introducing Project Friends with English subtitles added

Project Friends was started in 2008 by Andy and Hitomi Gray under the name Global Adventure. In 2009, we organized as a board. We successfully applied for non-profit status under the new name, Project Friends, in 2010. The Grays are Project Friends’ first field staff in Cambodia, and volunteers are carrying on the work in Japan.
